Targeted Bipolar Pulsed Ionization: Using Electrical Charge to Target Airborne Contaminants
The electrostatic principles behind controlled ion polarity and timing, and the evidence needed to evaluate a specific application.
Evidence & scope
Electrostatic and bioaerosol research provides proof of principle. AEIRO-specific biological, VOC, odor or particle performance requires applicable product testing. The proposed VOC/particle-filtration pathway remains a hypothesis unless demonstrated under stated conditions.
From Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization to Targeted Bipolar Pulsed Ionization
How selectable polarity and pulse timing change the control strategy, with a comparison of operating modes and verification requirements.
Evidence & scope
A selected mode describes control logic, not a verified treatment outcome. The earlier internal duct comparison does not support a generalized cancellation percentage. S100 sensor trends describe measured parameters; treatment efficacy requires outcome-appropriate testing.
Hard Ionization, Soft Ionization, and Byproduct Formation in Indoor Air Treatment
A closer look at ion formation, reactive chemistry and byproducts, separating design intent from measured emissions.
Evidence & scope
The hard/soft terminology is a mass-spectrometry analogy, not an indoor-air-cleaner safety classification. Low or non-detectable ozone does not establish the absence of all other byproducts. Emissions claims require evidence for the relevant model, compounds and conditions.
TBPI Soft Ionization Compared with Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation
An application-specific comparison of mechanisms, indoor-air chemistry, exposure considerations, maintenance and energy evaluation.
Evidence & scope
UVGI outcomes vary with wavelength, dose, airflow and the installation. TBPI's lack of a UV mechanism does not establish its efficacy or complete emissions profile. Energy comparisons need equivalent treatment objectives and measured power, duty cycle and runtime.
Do CO₂, VOCs and Atmospheric Pressure Affect the Cognitive Performance of Occupants?
A randomized controlled trial of 398 healthy adults examining tested cognitive abilities during short-term exposures to CO₂, a specific TVOC mixture and reduced atmospheric pressure.
Source: International Journal of Hygiene and Environmental Health (2026)
Evidence & scope
The study found no systematic negative effects on the tested cognitive abilities under its exposure conditions, including CO₂ up to 4200 ppm. Outdoor-air supply was held constant. It did not test reduced ventilation or AEIRO products, and its findings should not be generalized beyond the study population and conditions.
